    Oxford Schools West Africa Qualifying Round

    The Oxford Schools West Africa Qualifying Round is part of the world's largest British Parliamentary debating competition for students aged 14–18, organized by the prestigious Oxford Union Society.

    This regional qualifying tournament brings together the finest young debaters from across West Africa to compete for a coveted opportunity to represent the region on the international stage. Teams engage in rigorous British Parliamentary-style debates, showcasing their analytical thinking, persuasive speaking, and strategic teamwork.

    The top-performing, high-calibre teams from this qualifying round earn the prestigious honor of advancing to Finals Day in Oxford, UK, where they will compete alongside the best young debaters from around the world. This pathway not only recognizes exceptional debating talent but also provides West African students with an unparalleled opportunity to experience world-class competition at one of the most historic institutions of debate.

    The 2026 edition, organized in partnership with Speech Forces, continued the tradition of identifying and celebrating the region's brightest young minds in competitive debate.
